CALVELEX
STUDENT 360
With many decades of experience and countless emails every day, we understood the challenges students face in accessing a variety of materials, from fabrics to trimmings, and in comprehending the intricacies of the production process.
To address this, we began offering scheduled visits, allowing small groups of students to gain insights into our entire operation, from pre-production to post-production stages. Additionally, we initiated protocols with universities to donate end-of-roll fabrics, recognizing that retail options are often prohibitively expensive and limited. This initiative began with Portuguese universities and has since expanded to colleges worldwide.
Students visiting us also have access to our extensive fabric library, Fabrics4Fashion. Here, they can learn about different fibers, fabric qualities, and their applications in garment production.
By donating these roll ends, we are fostering creativity and knowledge among young minds while helping them save money during their studies. Many of the fabrics we work with are blends that include stretch fibers, making recycling both costly and resource-intensive in terms of energy and water consumption.
There’s this saying that states one’s trash is another’s treasure, and we believe that by sharing our end-of-rolls, as little as it might seem, we not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also empower the next generation of creatives, transforming their world in a 360 turn!
