CALVELEX is a manufacturing company based in the north of Portugal, the very heart of the Portuguese textile industry and one of the most relevant textile-manufacturing hubs around Europe.

Like many Portuguese manufacturers, the company started as a family business with only 20 employees and growing ever since. It was founded in 1985 by brothers César and Marco Araújo who, being great-grandsons of a tailor, have preserved their craftsmanship roots towards the business DNA, devoting to high-end garments manufacturing.

What started as a small family business with only 20 workers has evolved, outstanding times of change and many challenges over the past decades.

The constant updating of technological equipment and production processes, along with the continuous training of the human resources, led CALVELEX to achieve a degree of efficiency that places it among the most successful players around the sector.

By preserving its long tailoring tradition and combining them with cutting-edge systems, CALVELEX has a unique atmosphere of modern tradition.

The company has devoted itself to the production and distribution of woven garments such as blazers, jackets, coats, dresses, trousers, and skirts. The core product is high-end womenswear, which is currently exported to over 50 countries.

The group is currently divided into two manufacturing units, with one integrated cutting division and two logistic centers, totaling an operating space of 30,000 sqm, employing more than 500 workers, with an installed capability to produce around 600K pieces per year.

All units are equipped with the ultimate Geber CAD and CAM systems and connect with an efficient system which allows CALVELEX to exercise its potential as a unified whole.

The proficiency over a wide range of services, outdoing the traditional garment manufacturer, will support the client’s business. From material sourcing and pattern development, to delivery under a tailored pick & pack model, CALVELEX will help its customers succeed and grow.

This adaptability and flexibility led to the current customer portfolio with over 100 different labels, some of which have been working together with CALVELEX for 20 years. The long-term relationship with its customers retrieves the company’s reliability.
